In Partnership with Eletromidia, Rock in Rio Creates Immersive Experience
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Rock in Rio and Eletromidia present Rock in History, an augmented reality experience showcasing the festival’s history in an outdoor interactive museum. Developed in partnership with TIM and Eletromidia, and implemented by Context, a technology company within the Dreamers Group.
The initiative features 40 stories of the festival displayed at digital and interactive points across Rio de Janeiro. The project offers five types of immersive content: giant 3D objects, information and trivia, virtual portals to new universes, exclusive filters and audio, and virtual settings for photos.
The Rock in History activation is free and divided into three phases leading up to the festival, which takes place on September 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, and 22 in Rio de Janeiro.
The first phase began on May 16, 2024, featuring five of the 40 interactive points located at Porto Maravilha, Barra, Copacabana, Aterro do Flamengo, and Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. Participants can scan the QR Codes at Eletromidia installations to access historical Rock in Rio content.
Participants receive a virtual badge in the official Rock in Rio app wallet upon completion. By collecting blue, black, and golden badges, participants can redeem a physical palette at participating TIM stores and enter a chance to win tickets to the festival.
